This symposium, entitled New Law and Order: Working Towards Equitable and Community-Centered Policing in North Carolina, will be a full-day event meant to engage decision-making stakeholders-law enforcement professionals, district attorneys and other stakeholders-in equitable reforms to address racial disparities in policing in North Carolina. Our presentations will bring together perspectives from law enforcement, scholars, and community activists to discuss effectively combating bias, rethinking the role of the police in communities of color and partnering with activists for meaningful change.
